Harvest Will Come
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 So, how do we learn to continue in well doing, and faint not? How do we do everything that we’re supposed to do to serve our Master, tend the garden, and prepare for the harvest to come… and do all of these without becoming frustrated or giving up?
Dangerous Ruts
For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him. 2 Chronicles 30:9b
Three Fingers Pointing Back
There’s an old adage that goes, “Any time you point the finger at someone, remember, there are three fingers pointing back at you.” We find it so easy to find fault in others, and often absolutely refuse to see our own guilt.
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. Proverbs 14:14
Authenticated
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. James 4:17 However, the Word is clear: if you know better, and you still do it… it’s sin, plain and simple.
Beacons
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5:14 Our lives, in Christ, should stand out from the world, just like a light in the midst of a dark night. In a world filled with darkness and sin, if we are living lives close to our Savior we will be obviously different from the world we inhabit.
Not Like the Others
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9 Our relationship with Christ calls us to step away from the crowd. We are meant to live a life of holiness and by that life, shine light upon the One who ‘called us out’, the One who has sealed us for eternity.
